Senior Program Coordinator Global Networks

Reports to: Program Officer

Salary Range: $52,000

Anticipated Start Date: August 15, 2026

Term of Employment: Full-time, non-exempt

Base of Designation: Washington, DC

Remote Eligible: Hybrid only, not remote. Per the terms of the award, staff member must be based in Washington, DC and available for in-person meetings at least weekly and other times as required by workflow.

Conditional on Funding? Position will continue pending satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

World Learning seeks a Senior Program Coordinator to join the Global Networks team. This position supports World Learning's Global Networks Team, including the U.S. Speaker Program and the Leaders Lead On-Demand Program. The Senior Program Coordinator role entails a more advanced involvement in the thematic aspects of programming, overall program management and coordination and meeting cooperative agreement requirements than the Program Coordinator position. The position requires knowledge of Global Networks programs and excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural, and organizational skills. The position may require occasional short-term travel to international or US locations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work both independently and collaboratively, handle logistics and other arrangements with attention to detail, and communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of partners and stakeholders. An interest in working with people from other cultures, backgrounds, and abilities and a proactive, collaborative attitude are essential. This position provides an opportunity to engage with U.S. and international leaders in a range of fields, learn about key U.S. foreign policy issues, and help forge international partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of in-person, virtual, and hybrid exchange programs in support of U.S. foreign policy goals;
  • Arrange program logistics, specifically booking travel, ground transportation, hotels, meeting space, and disbursement of per diem for the US Speaker Program;
  • Coordinate with contracted visa service company to arrange participants' visas and passports as needed;
  • Assist with financial aspects of program arrangements, including per diem requests and receipts, checks for vendors, and invoices, ensuring that all financial transactions are executed in compliance with accounting and procurement procedures and requirements;
  • Communicate with participants and the State Department on a daily basis to coordinate travel, obtain necessary documents, and provide required program information;
  • Develop prospective program calendars and itineraries and arrange professional appointments;
  • Write, prepare and disburse necessary program materials;
  • Prepare and maintain program files and databases;
  • Author program reports and other writing assignments;
  • Manage group travel when needed; and
  • Handle other tasks as

As members of World Learning's staff, Senior Program Coordinators also have various opportunities for professional development, including skill-building workshops, shadowing sessions with internal and external entities, and brownbag lunches on various topics relevant to international education and exchange.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Experience/Education:

  • A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience; or three years of relevant professional experience
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the location where this position is

Required Skills:

  • Experience with successfully managing multiple tasks at the same time, while meeting deadlines;
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing logistics for events or travel;
  • Strong attention to detail, including in written work and financial tasks;
  • Effective presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • An ability to problem-solve, work with responsibility, and make decisions in ambiguous situations;
  • Proficiency with technology platforms such as Microsoft 365 Suite, web conferencing platforms, and other cloud-based document management and online project management tools;
  • Fluency in written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications:

  • International or intercultural experience is appreciated, as reflected in personal background or international work or study experience;
  • Experience implementing S. Department of State-funded programs is valued but not required.
