REGIONAL ANESTHESIA OPERATIONS MANAGER
Full-Time | Regional | Operations

The Regional Anesthesia Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of anesthesia practices across an assigned geographic region. This role serves as the primary operational liaison between clinical leadership, administrative teams, and corporate functions — monitoring financial performance, scheduling, and ensuring consistency in provider onboarding and credentialing across all market locations.
Reports to: Sr. Director of Operations
Works closely with: Medical Directors, Regional Clinical Leaders, Credentialing, Finance, HR, and Contracting teams
Operations & Market Performance
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for anesthesia group leaders and hospital/facility administrators within the region
  • Monitor and drive key performance metrics including OR utilization, case volume, scheduling efficiency, and provider productivity
  • Identify operational gaps and implement scalable solutions to improve market performance
  • Lead or support market expansion efforts, new contract launches, and facility onboarding

  • Financial Oversight
  • Monitor regional P&L indicators, including provider costs, billing efficiency, and contract compliance
  • Support finance team in processing merit increases, pay rate changes, and compensation adjustments with appropriate approvals
  • Collaborate with AP and payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate provider payment processing

  • Scheduling & Staffing
  • Partner with scheduling coordinators and clinical leaders to ensure adequate coverage across all regional facilities
  • Support development and maintenance of provider schedules aligned with clinical and contractual commitments
  • Proactively identify and address coverage gaps, high-turnover risk, and capacity constraints

  • Provider Onboarding & Credentialing
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding for new W-2 and 1099 providers, ensuring timely completion of all credentialing and privileging requirements
  • Partner with the credentialing team to monitor CredentialStream workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain compliance with hospital and payer requirements
  • Track Days in Process (DIP), days since last worked, and days since last communication for all active providers
  • Ensure 1099 CRNA onboarding includes complete Coupa vendor setup, ACH configuration, and readiness for first payment within target timelines

  • Compliance & Regulatory
  • Ensure regional operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and hospital-specific regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records across HR, credentialing, and operational systems
  • Support preparation for audits, Joint Commission reviews, and payer credentialing cycles

  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with facility administrators, OR directors, and clinical leadership
  • Prepare and deliver regular operational reports and updates for VP-level and executive stakeholders
  • Serve as an escalation point for provider relations issues, facility concerns, and operational disputes

  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of operations management experience in a healthcare or anesthesia/physician practice setting
  • Demonstrated experience managing provider onboarding, credentialing, or practice operations
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare billing, scheduling systems, and credentialing workflows
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed (up to 25–40%)

  • Experience with CredentialStream, Coupa, or similar credentialing and procurement platforms
  • Familiarity with anesthesia-specific operations, including CRNA/MD staffing models and OR logistics
  • Experience supporting 1099 independent contractor programs
  • MBA or MHA preferred

    Education: High

    School Diploma or equivalent.


    Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ clinical and/or scheduling experience for office visits, tests (labs/radiology) and procedures. Prior supervisory experience is required.
