Engagement Manager
Location: Remote (United States)

Role Overview
The Engagement Manager plays a unique leadership role across the customer lifecycle, partnering closely with Client Directors, Solution Engineers, Practice Leads, Project Managers, and Delivery teams from select customer pursuits through successful delivery and long-term account growth.

Beginning during the sales cycle, the Engagement Manager contributes industry & product thought leadership, implementation expertise, transformation guidance, and delivery leadership to help shape executable solutions, reduce delivery risk, and establish customer confidence before an engagement begins. Following contract execution, the Engagement Manager serves as the executive delivery partner to the client, accountable for the overall health, performance, and strategic growth of a defined portfolio of client accounts.

This role ensures delivery excellence, strong financial performance, and high levels of client satisfaction across all engagements within the portfolio. The Engagement Manager provides executive oversight by aligning delivery execution with customer business objectives, proactively managing risk and commercial performance, and identifying opportunities for account expansion and long-term customer success.

Working across Sales, Global Delivery, Architecture, Finance, and Practice Leadership, the Engagement Manager connects customer strategy, delivery execution, and commercial outcomes to ensure every engagement strengthens the customer relationship, protects Thunder's reputation, and positions the account for continued growth and sustained profitability.
Responsibilities

  • Select Customer Pursuits & Pre-Sales Leadership
    • Partner with Sales, Solution Engineering, and Practice Leaders during strategic customer pursuits, bringing delivery leadership and implementation expertise into the sales process.
    • Participate in customer discovery sessions, executive workshops, and transformation discussions to help customers define business outcomes and implementation strategies.
    • Contribute to solution development, delivery approach, staffing strategy, and proposal planning to ensure customer commitments are executable and aligned with successful delivery.
    • Identify delivery, commercial, and implementation risks early, helping shape solutions that balance customer outcomes with successful project execution.
    • Provide leadership through the transition from sales to delivery, ensuring continuity of customer relationships, business objectives, and implementation strategy.
  • Account Portfolio Governance & Health
    • Own overall delivery health across all projects within assigned accounts
    • Monitor RAG status, EVA, margin performance, utilization alignment, and resource mix
    • Lead structured account governance cadence (monthly/quarterly business reviews)
    • Ensure adherence to delivery methodology and quality standards
    • Escalate and resolve red projects with structured recovery plans
  • Strategic Alignment
    • Align delivery roadmap to client business strategy and long-term objectives
    • Ensure architectural consistency and forward-looking technical positioning
    • Partner with Practice Leads and Architects to ensure scalable, reusable solutions
    • Identify transformation opportunities beyond current scope
  • Client Health & Relationship Management
    • Serve as executive-level delivery contact for client stakeholders
    • Maintain strong C-level and VP-level relationships where appropriate
    • Proactively measure and monitor client satisfaction
    • Address relationship friction early before it escalates
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with General Managers and Sales leadership to align delivery performance with account strategy, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
    • Work with Global Delivery and Resource Management to ensure engagements are staffed appropriately while maintaining utilization and margin guardrails.
    • Collaborate with Practice Leads, Architects, and Solution Engineering teams to bring the right expertise into complex engagements and client expansion opportunities.
    • Coordinate with Finance and delivery leadership to maintain visibility into portfolio financial performance, forecast accuracy, and commercial health across engagements.
  • Risk & Commercial Foresight
    • Monitor margin, burn rate, forecast accuracy, and scope performance
    • Identify early warning signs of overrun, scope creep, or margin erosion
    • Partner with Finance and PMO on financial health reporting
    • Drive change order discipline and commercial guardrails
  • Renewals & Account Growth
    • Identify and drive renewals of managed services and long-term engagements
    • Partner with Sales to uncover expansion and add-on opportunities
    • Provide delivery-backed credibility in expansion discussions
    • Contribute to account plans and pipeline forecasting

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Salesforce ecosystem experience.
  • Experience leading customer engagements within a Salesforce consulting or systems integration environment.
  • Experience in supporting sales pursuits
  • Depth in Quote to Cash, Salesforce legacy CPQ, Revenue Cloud or other CPQ platforms
  • Strong executive communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working across Sales and Delivery organizations.
  • Ability to balance customer success with commercial objectives.
  • Strong consulting, workshop facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of account health and delivery risk on complex engagements, not solely execution management.Strong commercial acumen
  • Advanced risk identification and mitigation capability
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset
  • Conflict resolution and escalation management
  • Proven experience managing multi-project client portfolios
  • Experience owning financial performance (margin, forecast, revenue realization)
  • Executive-level client interaction experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise pursuits.
  • Experience leading or partnering on organizational change management (adoption, training, readiness) for enterprise rollouts
  • Familiarity with professional services commercials, statements of work, account planning & growth strategies.
  • Experience leading executive business reviews and customer growth workshops.
  • Experience leading value realization or business outcome workshops (baseline vs. target KPIs).
  • Experience leading 7 figure transformational programs.
  • Experience partnering with Solution Engineers and Practice Leads during pre-sales.
