This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Video Editor - MTN based in Canada.

This role focuses on creating engaging video content for a fast-paced entertainment media brand covering film and television news.
You will transform raw footage, interviews, and scripts into polished short-form and long-form videos designed to capture audience attention.
The position combines creative storytelling, technical editing skills, and a strong understanding of digital content trends.
You will collaborate closely with producers and creative teams to shape narratives, improve viewer engagement, and deliver impactful content.
This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented video editor who enjoys experimenting with formats, visuals, and storytelling techniques.
You will play an important role in producing high-quality content across multiple platforms while adapting to evolving audience behaviors.

Accountabilities:
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content from raw footage through final delivery while maintaining high creative and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with producers and creative teams to develop strong story structures, pacing, emotional impact, and visual flow.
  • Select the most effective footage, interviews, soundbites, music, and visual elements to strengthen each story.
  • Add graphics, captions, transitions, sound design, and other creative elements that enhance viewer engagement.
  • Adapt video content for different platforms, formats, aspect ratios, and audience preferences.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, storytelling standards, and quality expectations.
  • Use approved footage and assets while maintaining proper attribution and content compliance when required.
  • Manage feedback, revisions, and final delivery schedules to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review audience performance data and feedback to identify opportunities for improving future content.
  • Stay updated on video editing trends, platform changes, competitor content, and emerging creative tools.
  • Communicate effectively with producers and cross-functional teams throughout the editing process.
  • Support timely content production, including occasional weekend availability when needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience editing both short-form and long-form digital video content.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling ability, pacing, visual creativity, and audience engagement.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar professional video editing software.
  • Experience editing interviews, contributor footage, voiceovers, music, graphics, captions, and social media content.
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, video formats, audience retention strategies, and content optimization.
  • Excellent visual judgment with attention to detail across video, audio, graphics, and text elements.
  • Ability to transform raw materials into compelling narratives that connect with audiences.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent quality standards.
  • Flexibility to support fast-moving content cycles and occasional weekend production needs.
