Job Description

American Power Innovations, a $40M manufacturer of electrical equipment and skid-based products, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician. In addition to a competitive compensation package, we offer a full range of company paid benefits including health insurance, 9 paid holidays and 401K. Typical hours are 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Thursday with some overtime, averaging 45 hours per week.

Overview

The Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical and other physical structures in accordance with internal requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.

Essential Functions

  • Construct interior walls, metal framing, hanging and finishing drywall.
  • Paints structures, drywall and plaster
  • Evaluate, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building.
  • Maintain and install electrical systems and fixtures.
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Repair and maintain shop machinery and mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, shears, welders, and forklifts.
  • Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure.
  • Prioritize work orders for the purpose of addressing health and safety risks first.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work outside under all weather conditions when needed.
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on hydraulic and diesel machinery.
