Job Description
Beacon Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory care team. In this role, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients across the lifespan, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. You'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a dynamic hospital environment.
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, respiratory treatments, and airway clearance therapies.
- Operate and manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory support equipment.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and respiratory diagnostic testing.
- Assist physicians with airway management and respiratory procedures.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and equipment use.
- Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, clean, and test respiratory therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC required or obtainable within one year of hire.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- PALS certification required within 9 months of hire.
- NRP certification required within 12 months of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
