Job Description

Position Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Are you ready to take your psychiatry career to new heights? At Deep Centered Mental Health, we are growing our outpatient psychiatry practice and are seeking an experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) who wants to practice thoughtful, integrative psychiatry in a highly supportive, collaborative environment.

Location: Austin (this is not a remote opportunity)

Deep Centered Mental Health is an outpatient psychiatry and psychotherapy practice built to support thoughtful, high-quality care. We emphasize an integrative approach—combining medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and advanced interventional treatments to help psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners deliver more meaningful, lasting outcomes. Our model is intentionally designed to reduce administrative burden, allow for longer patient visits, and foster true collaboration across disciplines.

Clinicians in our group benefit from seamless access to a large, in-house therapy network and the ability to incorporate innovative treatments such as TMS and esketamine into their practice. We are aligned with the largest and only American Psychological Association-accredited private therapy practice in Texas, with over 220 in house therapists on our team, creating a uniquely collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.

Position Highlights

  • Integrative psychiatry model (medication management + psychotherapy + lifestyle + interventional care)

  • Access to TMS and esketamine for treatment-resistant conditions

  • In-house network of 200+ therapists for easy referrals and coordinated care

  • Ability to treat adults and/or children & adolescents

  • Longer appointment times to support depth of care and clinical quality

  • Outpatient setting with No nights, no weekends, no call

  • Will be part of a respectful and supportive culture that values diversity, inclusion, and clinician wellness

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: $140K–$155K, with final offer determined by years of clinical experience and experience relevant to our care model.

  • Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, disability

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • Malpractice insurance with tail coverage

  • Paid CME and ongoing professional development

Your Role:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and accurately diagnose mental health conditions.

  • Develop personalized treatment strategies that may include psychotherapy, medications, lifestyle modifications, and when appropriate, consultation or referral for interventional treatments such as TMS and esketamine.

  • Deliver best-in-class care with an unwavering commitment to ethical and evidence-based practices.

  • Guide patients and their families through understanding their mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage patient care and contribute to research that advances interventional treatment.

  • Ensure all patient information is meticulously documented to support ongoing care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice in the state of Texas with an unencumbered DEA number.

  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

  • Minimum of 2 years of post–board certification clinical experience practicing as a PMHNP (this is not an entry-level or new graduate role).

  • Demonstrated experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults and/or adolescents.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical and evidence-based practices.

  • Comfortable with EMR systems and videoconferencing tools
