Job Description
Position Summary
Provide pediatric nursing care to patients at the NIH Clinical Center, supporting infants, children, and adolescents enrolled in clinical research protocols. Responsibilities include age-appropriate assessment, medication administration, family-centered care, and monitoring of pediatric patients on the night shift.
13 weeks with extension possible.
3- 12 hour shifts per week.
Night shift with Holidays and Weekends as needed.
W-2 position.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or associate degree in Nursing from an accredited university; successful passage of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Licensure: Valid, active RN license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States.
Certification: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support required for this position).
Experience: Two to three (2–3) years of current pediatric acute care hospital experience. (Exceeds the PWS baseline of one year within the preceding three years in the designated specialty.)
Role-Specific Requirements
Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Current pediatric acute care hospital experience.
Availability for a three-shift, 12-hour night schedule including holiday nights and weekends
This position is contingent upon successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings, which may include a background check, drug test, physical examination, and respirator fit testing in accordance with contract and facility requirements.
