About the Role
As Flow scales its real estate portfolio, the Property Controller will play a central role in powering that growth. This position is responsible for building and maintaining the financial infrastructure that supports an expanding portfolio of properties — ensuring accurate reporting, rigorous analysis, and seamless compliance as we add new assets and markets. You'll be a key financial partner to both internal teams and external operators, helping translate operational complexity into clear financial insight that drives smart decisions at scale.
- Oversee and manage full property accounting month-end close process and support Flow’s overall accounting month-end close process from beginning to end
- Compile, analyze, and track financial data by performing detailed reviews of monthly property owner reports
- Develop and maintain relationships with the company's internal and external property managers
- Work with auditors for interim and year end audits
- Internally own tax preparation for real estate entities and coordinate with third party tax advisors
- Run cash forecast model and monitor cash flow in partnership with other members of the finance team
- Assist in budget preparation and review
- Understand and manage payment of loans and loan compliance
- Oversee retail tenant escalation calculations, including CAM, taxes, and other operating expenses
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure internal client requests are handled on time, accurately, and with a focus on customer service
- Coordinate with property management teams to resolve tenant billing and collection issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 7+ years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with some experience in real estate accounting and analytics
- Proficiency with Excel, G-Suite, Yardi, Netsuite/Intacct a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and good presentation skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for real estate property
- Knowledge of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
