This role is a hands-on Workday configuration leadership position focused on Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) within a global HR technology environment. You will play a critical part in designing, configuring, and optimizing Workday solutions that support complex, multi-country HR operations. Acting as both a technical expert and solution architect, you will translate business requirements into scalable system configurations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and performance. The role involves close collaboration with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to deliver seamless integrations and high-quality user experiences. You will also contribute to Workday release management, testing cycles, and continuous system improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured yet evolving enterprise environment and enjoys solving complex HR system challenges at scale.

Accountabilities

Lead the configuration, optimization, and end-to-end delivery of Workday PATT solutions, ensuring alignment with global HR and payroll business requirements while maintaining system integrity and compliance.

  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules to meet complex organizational needs.
  • Lead solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-release stabilization activities.
  • Translate HR and Payroll business requirements into scalable Workday configurations and process designs.
  • Perform impact analysis for Workday semi-annual releases and ensure smooth adoption of new features.
  • Develop and execute test plans, support UAT cycles, and troubleshoot system issues to ensure quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional HR, IT, and business teams to ensure seamless integrations and data consistency.
  • Maintain detailed configuration and process documentation for audit, compliance, and operational continuity.
  • Participate in agile sprint cycles and contribute to continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong Workday configuration expertise with a solid understanding of HR operations, payroll processes, and global system environments. You should be comfortable working independently while engaging with diverse stakeholders across time zones.

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience, especially in Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.
  • Workday certification in relevant modules (Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, security framework, and global HR operations.
  • Experience working in multi-country and multi-currency Workday environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday tools such as Studio, EIB, Report Writer, and Business Processes.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, audit requirements, and controlled HR environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality configurations independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
