Job Description

About the Role

We are hiring a Director of Software Implementation to lead the rollout of a new pharmacy operations software platform across a growing network of pharmacies.

This person will own the implementation function: site readiness, training, go-live support, rollout reporting, and the playbook that helps the team move faster with more confidence.

This is a field-oriented role with regular travel to pharmacy locations. The Director will work directly with pharmacy teams, see how the platform fits into daily operations, build trust in the field, and bring those lessons back into the rollout process.

The strongest candidate has led complex software implementations before, ideally in pharmacy or healthcare. They know how to make practical decisions, communicate clearly, and turn a complex rollout into measurable progress.

Current Starting Point

Today, a small internal IT team has carried a wide mix of technology, support, implementation, and operational work. As the pharmacy network grows, and as we increase the speed and success of software rollouts, we are carving out dedicated leadership for implementation.

Early on, the Director will work closely with the existing IT team, pharmacy operations, product, support, and leadership. The first phase will be hands-on: clarify the rollout methodology, define site readiness, strengthen training, improve field support, and create the staffing plan for a dedicated implementation team.

The opportunity is to take what has been handled by a small group of generalists and turn it into a focused implementation function with a clear playbook, a practical training model, useful reporting, and a team that can support faster, more consistent rollouts across the network.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the rollout of a new pharmacy operations software platform across multiple pharmacy locations.
  • Build a repeatable implementation playbook covering site readiness, workflow discovery, data readiness, training, cutover planning, go-live support, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Spend time with pharmacy teams to understand workflows, assess readiness, train staff, support launches, and identify risks early.
  • Create the training model for pharmacy staff, including role-based training, on-site champions, training materials, and post-launch reinforcement.
  • Build the implementation team over time, including the staffing model, hiring plan, team structure, and operating cadence needed for consistent rollouts.
  • Partner with pharmacy operations, technology, product, support, and leadership to make sure each location is prepared before launch.
  • Make practical implementation decisions in the field, escalate the right issues, and keep rollouts moving without unnecessary delay.
  • Identify workflow gaps, operational risks, training needs, data migration issues, and software issues during implementation, then communicate them clearly to the right people.
  • Provide clear reporting on site readiness, rollout status, blockers, decisions needed, lessons learned, and measurable rollout progress.
  • Improve the implementation process after each rollout so the next one is clearer, more efficient, and easier for the team to repeat.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience leading software implementations across multiple sites or locations.
  • Experience implementing software in healthcare, pharmacy, or another operationally complex multi-location environment.
  • Experience training end users on complex software in a live operational setting.
  • Experience with workflow mapping, operational readiness, data readiness, cutover planning, and go-live support.
  • Experience creating implementation plans, making field-level decisions, prioritizing blockers, and reporting progress against rollout goals.
  • Experience communicating rollout status, risks, training needs, and decisions across frontline staff, operations leaders, technical teams, and executive leadership.
  • Experience leading implementation teams, training teams, field teams, or cross-functional rollout groups.
  • Experience supporting go-lives, managing post-launch issues, and coordinating follow-up until a site is stable.

Preferred Experience

  • Pharmacy management system, dispensing system, fulfillment software, or pharmacy workflow software implementation experience.
  • Compounding pharmacy experience.
  • EHR/EMR or other healthcare software implementation experience.
  • Experience building an implementation, training, or field operations team from an early stage.
  • Experience creating rollout metrics, readiness scorecards, training adoption measures, or executive implementation reporting.

Why This Role Matters

This is a role with visible impact: better prepared pharmacies, stronger training, clearer go-lives, and a software rollout process the organization can trust.

We are moving from an initial software rollout into a broader implementation across a pharmacy network. To do that well, we need clear readiness criteria, practical training, disciplined go-live support, fast decision-making, and measurable progress.

The Director of Software Implementation will build and lead that model, working closely with the CTO and the broader technology and operations teams
