Responsible for leading the daily activities of the team(s). Ensures that team workload and project deadlines are met. Provides leadership and support to the team to facilitate team building, project management, 360 degree feedback. Provides input for employee evaluations and ensures on-boarding of new team members. Assists the director/manager with strategic and tactical planning and participates in hiring and budgeting processes.
  • Plan, assigns, prioritizes, and coordinates the distribution of work for the team.
  • Ensures that staff coverage is available and adequate to meet business needs (including on-call).
  • Monitors team member performance and provides detailed input for team member evaluations.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget guidelines. Produces and maintains team and project status reports for team, management, and departmental review. Oversees development of documentation, formulates standards and procedures for approval.
  • Demonstrates and ensures that appropriate vendor, client, partner relationships and communications are established and maintained.
  • Participates in strategic/tactical planning with department leadership (including resource allocation, identifying new technologies, and budget).
  • Facilitates skills transfer and skills development amongst team members. Recommends and establishes training and education to facilitate team and individual team member growth.
  • Mentors team members, facilitates team activities and events, serving as both a technical and professional role model.
  • Review technical specifications, project plans, diagrams, application, and system documentation for specific details needed to accomplish the technical needs of projects and solutions. Provides technical and functional guidance to team members while ensuring system integrity and HA guidelines.
  • Participates in applicant interviews and makes recommendations for candidate selection. Oversees new team member on-boarding.
  • Works with a combination of Epic and non-Epic tools, content, data sources, processes and distribution methods to provide actionable information. Prepares reports and dashboards for internal and external clients to assist with making business decisions. Establishes or confirms best practices for appropriate tools, products, and client access.
  • Responsible for development of advanced analytical solutions for the enterprise to implement well-formed Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
  • Utilizes necessary tools to prepare reports and databases to create products of minor to high complexity. May lead and coordinate the work of other analysts involved in projects.
  • Ensures completeness, correctness and consistency of data and data structure. Ensures secure and high integrity data integration. Responsible for coordinating validation and ensures that solutions are appropriately tested and meet end user workflow.
  • This position will work closely with directors, managers, end-users, statistical programmers, and other technical staff to provide data acquisition, analysis, reporting, consulting and training.
  • Participates in all phases of software lifecycle development, particularly in the reporting analysis, development, testing documentation and implementation.
  • Adheres to Change Management policies and processes to include timely reporting of all pertinent change information, effective discussion of the changes, internal and external communications, contingency planning, support of the change event and post-change reporting.
  • May work with clients to identify technical requirements.
  • Documents and maintains documentation of products including functional summaries, diagrams, flow charts or other documentation as needed.
  • Provides reporting and analytic product client use and upgrade support.
  • Assists with the automation of manual processes. Establishes and creates a positive project team environment through collaboration. Identifies issues and escalates issues to appropriate leadership.
  • Work is generally independent of supervision and highly collaborative.
  • The HA Team Leader serves in a leadership role to handle the daily activities for customer service focused, highly trained, and motivated team members. Makes project and workload assignments. Oversees team projects from all degrees varying in volume and complexity. Contributes to strategic and tactical planning including hiring and budgeting. Establishes priorities and work plans for handling trouble ticket resolutions, service requests, software/hardware deployments/installations, process improvement, and interoperability of staff.
  • The HA Team Leader must possess good customer service and organizational skills. Communicates frequently with vendors, clients, partners on service requests, problem resolution, software maintenance, service resolution, outsourcing, equipment and supply acquisitions.
  • The HA Team Leader works in a variety of environments with varying travel requirements. Frequently required to work irregular or unscheduled hours due to large projects or after hour support assistance. Provides staff coverage for on call support. Occasional lifting is required (approximately 25 lbs.)
What We Require:

Education: High school degree required. Associates/Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare business or equivalent experience required. Masters degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years leadership experience in information technology, technical services, or healthcare. Experience with technical project management, software and hardware preferred. Experience with client and vendor management preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license required. Vendor and/or industry certifications/proficiencies as determined by management. ITIL V3 Foundation Certification preferred. PMP desired.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Works irregular and weekend work hours, with occasional overnight travel as needed. Participates in an on-call rotation to meet business needs.
