Job Description
Oversees and responsible for department goals and activities of Mortgage Loan Associates within several markets. Assists Mortgage Leadership with questions from mortgage sales team including loan structuring, product development, new systems and procedures for all first mortgage real estate loans and related services. Works with mortgage back-office team on questions and maintain file efficiency from origination to closing.

Salary range for this position is $103,793.30 - $121,346.42 with a progressive benefit package.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in conducting GreenState's mission and vision.
- Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
- Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
- Ensures confidentiality of member information.
- Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Knowledge of both Mortgage Sales and Mortgage Back-Office functions with the ability to assist MLO's, Mortgage Loan Associates, Processing/Closing, and Underwriting.
- Engages with Mortgage Loan Associates to assist with file workflow, balancing workload and overall problem solving of each loan transaction.
- Maintains knowledge of trends relating to mortgage loans or mortgage lending in general.
- Participates in community events to increase the credit unions’ visibility and to enhance and seek new business opportunities. Plays a vital role by participating in and seeking leadership roles in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.
- Evaluates, encourages, cooperates and develops cooperation among staff members to ensure quality of work, effective relations, a “team effort”, and prompt service to members.
- Helps plan and coordinate employee lunches, outings, recognitions, thank you’s, etc to help with Employee Engagement.
- Encourages staff to expand their education through courses, seminars or conferences as they are offered.
- Facilitates and coordinates team building; coaches staff toward achievement of individual and team goals; helps administer salary adjustments for Mortgage Associates to ensure equity within the mortgage department.
- Works with underwriters on loan files to help obtain loan approvals.
- Prepares and conducts personnel performance evaluations, prepares documentation for retention in personnel files. Working with HR, recommends and implements disciplinary actions and appropriate staff counseling within the department as needed.
- Coordinates, tracks, and monitors daily scheduling within those that report directly to this position including overtime, leave of absences, and prepares periodic tracking reports for the Human Resources department.
- Meets attendance standards to perform job functions including physical presence to provide team oversite, coordination of work, and ongoing feedback.
- Remains current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the mortgage services function. Participates in continuing education as necessary.
- Provides support and assistance during internal, state and federal audits and examinations.
- Ensures that technology is used to efficiently and effectively deliver services to our members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematical Science, or other related field.
- Minimum eight years credit union or equivalent work experience in mortgage lending.
- Willingness and ability to promote the credit union and Mortgage Loan department to the Realtor community, home builders in the local area, and the community at large by making sales and marketing presentations personally and with department staff
- Ability, availability, and willingness to work flexible hours to accomplish workload. During periods of peak demand and at other times, job will require a non-traditional workweek with extra hours including evening and/or weekend duties.
- Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union and promote its products in a positive and professional manner during related contact.
- Knowledge of Real Estate purchasing and refinancing procedures and products.
- Knowledge of procedures, forms, secondary market guidelines, and regulations as they relate to mortgage lending, including but not limited to credit union policies and procedures, RESPA, HMDA, Truth-in-Lending, ECOA, and FEMA rules and regulations.
- Ability to prioritize and organize a wide variety of assignments and duties and large volumes of details.
- Ability to solve problems independently and maintain control in high stress situations.
- High energy with the ability to approach individuals and engage in meaningful conversations.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent figure aptitude.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and office equipment.
- Must be bondable.
- Must be registered pursuant to requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act.
- Adheres to all state, federal and credit union regulations, policies, and guidelines.
