While we provide the environment, we need you to provide the expertise. In this role, you will be the primary architect of hydration and health of our landscapes, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial irrigation systems.
Your Daily Impact:
System Installation & Repair: Assist with trenching, pipe laying, valve installation, and controller setup to build reliable water delivery systems.
Seasonal Maintenance: Support critical system startups in the spring and winterizations (blowouts) in the fall to protect client infrastructure.
Technical Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying system leaks or malfunctions, performing minor repairs under supervision while following manufacturer specifications.
Landscape Versatility: Support construction projects by assisting with sod, tree, and shrub installation, ensuring new plants are properly integrated with irrigation.
Winter Readiness: Transition to comprehensive snow and ice management from November through April, utilizing manual clearing and equipment to ensure property safety.
Safety & Equipment Care: Operate small power equipment and hand tools safely, maintaining a clean and organized job site in compliance with OHS standards.
To truly thrive in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation of skills and the right mindset:
Knowledge: Basic awareness of landscape and irrigation practices; strong understanding of workplace safety and safe work practices.
Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and small power equipment; a high level of physical coordination for manual tasks like digging and pipe laying.
Abilities: Ability to perform manual labor (80% of the role) in varying outdoor weather; strong willingness to take direction and learn technical field technology; valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License (asset).
