Description:

The QA/QC & Safety Manager is responsible for leading the company's Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies. This position partners with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and workplace safety while driving operational excellence. The QA/QC & Safety Manager oversees quality systems, safety initiatives, internal audits, training, and compliance efforts to ensure products and processes consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

  • Researches new regulations and developments in the field of Health and Safety and recommends changes to the company's program.
  • Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through audits, safety plans, and education of all personnel.
  • Records all accident reports in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Analyzes procedures and makes improvements resulting in efficiency and complete transparency.
  • Reinforces safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and improved morale.
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) files.
  • Integrates Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) methods into every procedure, maximizing efficiency, communication, and feedback across all participating departments. This includes management review and internal auditing.
  • Implements a philosophy of continual improvement in all departments and at all levels.
  • Schedules parts for the QC process.
  • Provides resolution for discrepancies in the QA/QC process.
  • Performs internal QA/QC audits.
  • Develops and maintains a Quality Manual that complies with the directives, requirements, and recommendations of ISO 9001.
  • Develops and maintains a Safety Manual.
  • Assists management and supervisors in investigating accidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.
  • Provides appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors.
  • Ensures that claims for injuries and illnesses are posted on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) log.
  • Performs internal safety audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Safety Management, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and internal auditing practices.
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection methods, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
