Now Hiring - Orthodontic Billing Specialist - Angier

The Orthodontic Billing Specialist plays a critical role in protecting and maximizing company revenue through accurate claim submission, insurance follow-up, and accounts receivable management. This position is responsible for ensuring claims are submitted correctly with all required documentation, attachments, and clinical narratives while identifying and resolving administrative issues that may delay payment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining a high level of accuracy. A minimum claim submission accuracy rate of 98% is expected. This role will work closely with the Insurance and Payment Specialist team to help reduce outstanding accounts receivable and improve overall collections.

Key Responsibilities

Daily, weekly, and monthly duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and submit outgoing insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation, attachments, coding, and fee schedules are included for both general dentistry and specialty services.
  • Monitor insurance claim denials and rework, appeal, and resubmit claims as needed.
  • Manage insurance accounts receivable using Dolphin reports and maintain clear documentation of claim status and progress.
  • Collaborate with the Insurance and Payment Specialist team and insurance carriers to identify and resolve fee schedule discrepancies and claim processing issues.
  • Post orthodontic EFT payments for assigned offices.
  • Assist with departmental initiatives to improve collections and reduce outstanding insurance balances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of dental billing or dental insurance experience required
  • Orthodontic experience is required
  • Knowledge of dental insurance claims processing and accounts receivable management
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
