Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesEnd-User Support
Work Environment
Purpose of role:
The InfoTech Specialist Intern supports day-to-day IT operations, including end-user support, network infrastructure, VoIP systems, mobile device management, wireless access points, business applications, and related equipment. This role assists with troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining system reliability, supporting security and compliance activities, and communicating technical solutions clearly to employees.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesEnd-User Support
- Provide technical support by phone and in person for desktop hardware, software, business applications, system access, and related end-user issues.
- Manage helpdesk service requests by prioritizing tickets, resolving issues promptly, communicating updates, and documenting support activity.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems involving software applications, network systems, and user workstations.
- Research technical issues independently and escalate unresolved problems when additional support is required.
- Install, configure, and image desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, operating systems, and business applications.
- Support the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and related systems.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 and Entra administration, including Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, Intune, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, end-user support materials, and operational procedures.
- Assist with information security activities, technical controls, and related operational processes.
- Review and monitor security systems, tools, and processes in accordance with departmental standards and policies.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks and improve operational efficiency where feasible.
- Under management direction, help maintain policies and procedures and stay current on security trends, threats, and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
- Basic knowledge of networking, information security, servers, desktop support, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across a variety of information systems while supporting other InfoTech team members as needed.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and respond effectively to critical issues.
- Professional, service-oriented communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Key competencies include technical aptitude, problem solving, communication, organization, security awareness, teamwork, ethical conduct, and professionalism.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. Position may require repetitive movements. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
