Position Overview:
Bus Operators utilize safe driving techniques and defensive driving skills while transporting passengers to various locations, following a predetermined route. Providing professional customer service to the public, obeying local, state, and federal transit regulations as well as obeying all vehicle and traffic laws.

General Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for transporting passengers safely following predetermined routes and detours.
- Ensure proper pick up and drop off passengers at designated bus stops.
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Responsible for the utilization of safe driving always to reduce and eliminate accidents.
- Responsible for informing the Company regarding on the road occurrences within a timely manner.
- Responsible for proper documentation of faulty equipment during the utilization of the assigned vehicle.
Position Qualifications:
- Required a minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must have and maintain an excellent Commercial Driver License class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsements and 19A compliance.
- Must have 5 years of driving experience.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Must be able to safely operate a bus in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, sleet and wind.
- Must be able to successfully complete the Bus Operator Training Program.
- Must be able to work any scheduled hours such as split shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs, reaches above shoulder level, walk extended distance, stand, kneel, sit in a sedentary position for an undefined amount of time.
- Ability to safely secure a wheelchair.
- Ability to work in an environment with dust, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, various temperatures, indoor and outdoor weather conditions for an undefined amount of time.
- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in English.
- Ability to bend, lift, push and pull, up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to travel 90% of scheduled time.
- Ability to use all bus operating equipment.
