About the Role: The Business Support Specialist provides operational, administrative, and member service support to the Small Business Banking team. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth onboarding, servicing, and maintenance of enterprise business member relationships, while supporting deposit and treasury management solutions growth through accurate documentation, compliance, and timely processing.
This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience to enterprise business members and supporting the credit union’s Enterprise Business Banking strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary support for the Enterprise Business Banking team.
- Assist with onboarding new small business members, including account opening, documentation collection, and due diligence (CIP/KYC/Beneficial Ownership).
- Prepare and review business account documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and credit union policies.
- Monitor exceptions, documentation tracking, and tickler reports.
- Assist with audit and exam preparation by gathering requested documentation.
- Respond to enterprise business member inquiries via phone, email, and in-person in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with branches, operations, and back-office teams to troubleshoot issues related to business services.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and member experience.
- Serve as a liaison between members and internal departments to ensure timely resolution of inquiries and issues
- Assist in pricing, contract negotiations, and RFP responses for Business Services
- Maintain regular communication with small business members to support their banking needs
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business members, providing guidance on treasury services such as ACH origination, wire transfers, remote deposit capture, positive pay, merchant services
- Provide initial training and ongoing support for members using treasury products
- Schedule meetings, prepare reports, and assist with presentations for business banking initiatives
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cross-offering products and services that benefit small businesses
Qualifications and Education:
- Two to five years in banking or business banking support.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience in a similar field preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of business deposits and treasury products including ACH, wire transfers, remote deposit capture, lockbox, and fraud protection tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Compliance: Employees must ensure the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Department-specific roles require awareness of unusual or suspicious activity.
- Complete all required online B.S.A. and O.F.A.C. courses annually, as provided by the Training and Compliance Department.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, U.S.A. Patriot Act, O.F.A.C., Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.
