The Customer Service Representative (CSR) delivers exceptional client experience by accurately processing financial transactions, identifying client needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role supports branch operations through efficient cash handling, adherence to policies and regulatory requirements, and strong day-to-day service execution. Float CSRs will be assigned to work from multiple branch locations based on business needs.
Essential Functions:- Deliver a professional, welcoming, and service-focused experience for clients and visitors in every interaction.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, and other routine teller transactions accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Build client relationships by identifying financial needs and making thoughtful referrals for banking products and services that align with client goals.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and safeguard negotiable instruments, cash, and other assets in accordance with security and control standards.
- Resolve routine client questions and concerns promptly and escalate more complex issues to the appropriate team member for timely resolution.
- Perform operational duties such as vault transactions, cash ordering, currency and coin shipment, and teller cash distribution as assigned.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support branch staffing and service levels.
- Support branch and bank initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
- CSR I - Typically requires up to one year of cash handling, retail banking, or customer service experience.
- CSR II - Typically requires one to two and a half years of teller or retail banking experience demonstrating strong transaction accuracy, client service, and operational reliability.
- Professional, courteous, and client-focused demeanor.
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a client-facing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- May be able to identify client needs and make appropriate product and service referrals.
- Proficient keyboarding, ten-key, and basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purposes as needed.
- Ability and willingness to work Saturdays and support multiple branch locations as needed.
- Valid Washington driver’s license required for float or multi-location assignments.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to operate standard office and banking equipment, including computers, printers, telephones, and cash handling devices. The role also requires clear verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, and business partners. Work is performed in a branch environment and may involve standing or sitting for extended periods, moving currency or coin, and performing repetitive hand movements associated with keyboard and teller functions.
Pay Range
- The pay range for this position is $19.44-$33.05
- The typical hiring range for this position is $19.44 – $22.31
- The incentive plan for this position is the Community Banking Incentive plan. It is paid out quarterly with a 7.5% target payout.
