Job Information is looking for a hands-on Communications Engineer to help design, integrate, test, and continuously improve resilient communications architectures across our next-generation unmanned platforms. Founded by U.S. and U.K. veterans, Marcurius is a fast-growing defense technology company focused on building multi-domain, multi-platform, mission-driven systems designed to perform in demanding and contested environments. Our initial focus is the rapid fielding of advanced Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) for modern maritime operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of communications engineering, tactical networking, SATCOM, RF systems, autonomous platforms, and command-and-control technology—with direct impact on real-world mission capability. What You'll Do As a Communications Engineer, you'll work closely with the Lead Communications Engineer and cross-functional teams spanning communications, autonomy, software, electrical, mission systems, and platform engineering. Your responsibilities will include: • Integrating communications architectures across current and future multi-domain platforms. • Supporting LOS and BLOS communications solutions, including tactical radios, mesh networking, SATCOM, LTE/5G fallback, and commercial communications technologies. • Integrating communications hardware and networking infrastructure into operational platforms. • Configuring, testing, and troubleshooting tactical radios, cellular routers, satellite terminals, networked devices, and secure communications equipment. • Developing and maintaining system diagrams, interface documentation, equipment configurations, installation procedures, and test records. • Evaluating third-party communications equipment and vendor recommendations while identifying technical and integration risks. • Implementing approved communications resilience strategies, including redundancy, failover pathways, frequency-management plans, interference mitigation, and alternative communications pathways. • Supporting the integration of communications with autonomy, mission systems, and command-and-control platforms. • Conducting communications testing, RF performance analysis, and operational validation during development, integration, harbor trials, and sea trials. • Supporting customer demonstrations, operational evaluations, end-user testing, and technical troubleshooting. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. • 5–7 years of experience in communications systems engineering, network integration, RF engineering, or a related technical field. • Demonstrated experience integrating communications systems across complex platforms or distributed operational environments. • Strong understanding of: LOS and BLOS communications architectures Tactical datalinks Networking technologies Communications resilience principles • Experience integrating secure networking and encryption technologies into operational systems. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and challenge third-party technical solutions. • Ability to read and maintain technical drawings, interface documentation, configuration records, and test evidence. • Must possess, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Experience You'll stand out if you also have experience with: • Department of Defense communications systems. • Unmanned or autonomous systems. • RF modeling tools. • Software-defined radio (SDR) platforms. • Tactical communications and networking technologies. • Contested electromagnetic environments. • Maritime systems or maritime defense programs. • SATCOM, tactical radio networks, and military communications architectures. • Autonomous command-and-control systems. • Military organizations, defense customers, or operational end users. • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, military communications qualifications, or relevant vendor certifications.
