Position Title: Assistant Manager

Organization: Rocky View Foundation (RVF)

Reports to: Lodge Manager

Position Summary:

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Lodge Manager in the overall operations, management, and supervision of the lodge. This role ensures the provision of high-quality services to residents while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in staff management, resident relations, safety and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the lodge, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary services to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to address residents' health concerns.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.

Resident Services

  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents.
  • Address and resolve resident concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the admission and orientation of new residents.
  • Ensure residents' needs are met, including health, safety, and recreational needs.

Staff Management

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising lodge staff.
  • Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of resident information, staff schedules, and other administrative documents.
  • Assist in budgeting and financial management, including monitoring expenses and revenues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior housing management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of senior care practices, health and safety regulations, and housing management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
