Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Lodge Manager in the overall operations, management, and supervision of the lodge. This role ensures the provision of high-quality services to residents while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in staff management, resident relations, safety and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the lodge, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary services to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to address residents' health concerns.
- Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
Resident Services
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents.
- Address and resolve resident concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
- Assist with the admission and orientation of new residents.
- Ensure residents' needs are met, including health, safety, and recreational needs.
Staff Management
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising lodge staff.
- Schedule and manage staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of resident information, staff schedules, and other administrative documents.
- Assist in budgeting and financial management, including monitoring expenses and revenues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior housing management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of senior care practices, health and safety regulations, and housing management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in working with seniors.
