The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality Control department in maintaining and improving the quality of high-performance alloy equipment. This role involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to quality. The technician will work closely with engineering, production, and inspection teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards for high-temperature and corrosive environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the Quality Inspectors to assure all customer contract requirements are fulfilled and assist with the administration of the Quality Management System.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions for quality issues, considering the impact on performance in extreme conditions.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify and eliminate quality problems that may affect performance under high temperatures and corrosion.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures specific to high-performance alloy equipment.
- Investigate and process Non-Conforming Material reports for discrepancies on in-house parts, vendor parts, and Customer returns.
- Analyze inspection data and identify trends or quality issues related to high-temperature and corrosion resistance.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, parts from suppliers, work in progress, and finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications, especially for high-temperature and corrosive applications.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Engineering Associates degree, Technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field preferred.
• Experience in Quality documents creation and process management such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Test Report review, and Document package.
• Experience managing QC processes such as Non-conforming materials (NCRs), customer returns.
• Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) or manufacturing codes (AWS, ASME, etc.).
• Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, quality management software).
• Experience with continuous improvement of processes and Root Cause analysis.
• Experience using hand tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, etc) to inspect parts
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications for complex industrial equipment.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metalworking industry.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
