Accountabilities:

The Director, Experience & Merchandising will define and execute the digital experience vision, overseeing ecommerce optimization, merchandising strategy, and customer journey improvements. This leader will manage a talented cross-functional team while partnering with marketing, product, technology, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable digital solutions that support growth.

  • Define and lead the merchandising and user experience strategy across ecommerce platforms to improve engagement, usability, and conversion performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams including UX designers, merchandisers, and product content specialists.
  • Create and manage digital experience roadmaps that align customer needs, business objectives, and technical capabilities.
  • Own ecommerce merchandising strategies across navigation, taxonomy, search, category pages, and product presentation.
  • Drive continuous optimization through A/B testing, personalization initiatives, analytics, and AI-driven insights.
  • Improve SEO, content discoverability, customer journeys, and digital product experiences through data-informed strategies.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and business teams to ensure products are effectively launched, positioned, and enriched across digital channels.
  • Use customer analytics, journey mapping, and usability testing to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and support the implementation of scalable ecommerce solutions.
  • Champion accessibility, responsive design, usability standards, and best practices across digital platforms.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced digital commerce leader with a strong background in ecommerce strategy, customer experience, merchandising, and digital transformation. They should combine strategic thinking with hands-on expertise in analytics, optimization, team leadership, and technology-driven growth initiatives.

  • 7–10+ years of experience leading digital commerce initiatives with a focus on ecommerce, customer acquisition, and customer loyalty.
  • 5+ years of experience creating, implementing, and managing large-scale digital campaigns.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and executing A/B testing and personalization programs.
  • Experience with enterprise ecommerce platforms such as Adobe Commerce, Shopify, SAP Commerce Cloud, or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth for large-scale B2B ecommerce businesses.
  • Experience building and managing digital analytics frameworks and using data to guide decisions.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, customer journeys, merchandising strategy, and conversion optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Creative, user-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving digital environment.
