CNC Machinist – Long Bed (2nd Shift, Full-Time)
$23.00–$40.00/hour + $1.50/hr Shift Premium
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00pm–12:00am
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Team Lead or Plant Management Team, the experienced CNC Lathe Long Bed Machinist is responsible for setting up and running the equipment per the appropriate work instructions. They are also responsible for measuring and obtaining the inspection of the “first” piece produced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct inspection of parts during run per the work instruction and maintain part specification.
2. Responsible for maintaining tooling/inserts.
3. Conduct daily/weekly maintenance inspections of equipment and record.
4. May operate other equipment/machines as directed by supervision.
5. Must maintain flexibility as job or machining priorities change day to day.
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.
2. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the workload, machine being down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.
3. Must be open-minded to various product design.
4. Must be able to stay on the task due to the manual environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two-year Associates Degree in Machine Tool techniques with one year of on-the-job manual machining experience
3. With no applicable degree, minimum of three years on-the-job manual machining experience required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
2. Set up and operate precision measurement equipment: micrometer, caliper, and bore gauges.
3. Must be able to work independently.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING:
All candidates selected for employment will be required to successfully complete pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all required screening.
