About the roleWe’re looking for a detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and clients to help keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is organized, technically strong, proactive, and comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Key responsibilities- Support project managers and superintendents with day-to-day project coordination.
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and procurement logs.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and other project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and internal project teams.
- Prepare, process, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence.
- Help monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and escalate risks related to schedule, cost, safety, or quality.
- Assist with material procurement, delivery tracking, and coordination of long-lead items.
- Support quality control efforts, punch lists, inspections, and project closeout documentation.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks, open items, and deadlines.
- Promote and follow company safety policies, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- [0–3+] years of experience in construction, project engineering, field engineering, or construction management.
- General understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and closeout processes.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field teams, office staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Build, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience on commercial, industrial, civil, infrastructure, multifamily, or public works projects.
- Internship or field experience with a general contractor, subcontractor, developer, or construction management firm.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- EIT certification or interest in professional development within construction management or engineering.
- Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments.
- Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs or ladders as needed, and wear required PPE.
- Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
