Supports the daily success of the production operation by leading activities during assigned shifts, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional donor experience. This role serves as the operational lead for the production team by coordinating workflow, maintaining quality and production standards, supporting team members, and ensuring safe, efficient operations while exemplifying the mission and values of KARM Stores.

Essential Functions

Donor Experience & Team Collaboration

• Provide a welcoming donor experience by greeting donors, assisting with donation receiving, expressing gratitude, and sharing the KARM story.
• Lead daily donation flow by coordinating team activities and maintaining organized, clean, and welcoming production areas.
• Support and encourage team members through effective communication, collaboration, and participation in devotional moments when present.
• Foster a positive, respectful work environment while assisting with daily workflow and operational priorities.

Production Leadership & Quality

• Lead daily production activities by ensuring merchandise is sorted, priced, processed, and prepared according to company standards.
• Provide guidance and support across multiple processing stations, including receiving, presort, pricing, ready area stocking, and disposal.
• Research merchandise as needed to ensure accurate pricing and proper product placement.
• Reinforce quality expectations by providing direction, answering questions, and modeling best practices.
• Cross training for paired role in retail.
• Assist with other duties as assigned to support daily operations and team success.

Operations & Workflow Management

• Coordinate daily workflow to achieve production goals while adjusting priorities based on donation volume, staffing, metrics, and operational needs.
• Protect merchandise value through accurate evaluation, careful handling, and consistent quality standards.
• Maintain accuracy in production records, donation documentation, and operational processes.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other operational responsibilities while supporting overall processing efficiency.

Safety & Shift Leadership

• Serve as the production lead during assigned shifts by ensuring compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
• Promote safe lifting practices, equipment use, donor unloading procedures, and handling of prohibited items.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability through consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependable leadership.
• Support managers by communicating operational concerns, resolving routine issues, and assisting with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous production, warehouse, retail, or processing experience preferred.
• Leadership or shift lead experience preferred.
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, inventory flow, and donation handling procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise or materials weighing up to 50 pounds, using assistance or appropriate equipment for heavier items.
• Ability to push and maneuver loaded carts, racks, and other material-handling equipment and safely use approved step stools or ladders as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving the hands, wrists, and arms, including sorting, hanging, tagging, stocking, and other retail or production activities.
• Ability to work in fast-paced retail, production, and receiving environments that may involve varying temperatures and periods of high physical activity.

Work Schedule and Required Hours

Full time or part time; MondaySaturday, up to 40 hours weekly. Shifts may include evenings or Saturdays based on operational needs. Attendance at required meetings, events, and training.
