Job Description

Marketing & Community Manager

Help Tell the Story of Orchid Isle Ford

Orchid Isle Ford is looking for a relationship-driven, creative, and accountable Marketing & Community Manager to strengthen our connection with the people and communities of Hawaiʻi Island.

This is not simply a promotional marketing position. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted representative of Orchid Isle Ford—someone who enjoys meeting people, building meaningful local partnerships, uncovering great stories, and turning those relationships into marketing that feels genuine to our customers, employees, and community.

The successful candidate will combine strong local awareness and interpersonal skills with practical marketing execution. They will be comfortable representing the dealership at a community event, capturing and publishing engaging content, coordinating a partnership, and reviewing performance data to determine what is working and what should change.

What You’ll DoBuild Community Relationships
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, charities, community leaders, and event partners.
  • Represent Orchid Isle Ford professionally at sponsorships, community events, dealership functions, and networking opportunities.
  • Identify new partnerships that create lasting value for both the community and the dealership.
  • Help turn one-time sponsorships into thoughtful, ongoing relationships.
  • Maintain an organized calendar of community commitments, events, and partnership opportunities.
Strengthen the Orchid Isle Ford Brand
  • Serve as a positive and recognizable ambassador for Orchid Isle Ford, both in person and online.
  • Ensure dealership communications consistently reflect our values, personality, and commitment to Hawaiʻi Island.
  • Help dealership employees and departments participate in and share the Orchid Isle Ford story.
  • Protect the quality and consistency of the brand across customer-facing materials and experiences.
  • Bring a customer-first perspective to marketing decisions.
Create Content and Tell Authentic Stories
  • Plan, capture, edit, and publish engaging photo and video content.
  • Develop recurring features such as employee profiles, customer stories, community spotlights, local business collaborations, and event coverage.
  • Write clear and compelling content for social media, email, the dealership website, and community initiatives.
  • Maintain a practical monthly content calendar aligned with dealership priorities and local events.
  • Find stories that demonstrate who we are rather than relying exclusively on vehicle offers and promotions.
Manage Social and Digital Channels
  • Manage the dealership’s regular social media activity and publishing schedule.
  • Monitor comments, messages, reviews, and engagement opportunities, responding or escalating appropriately.
  • Collaborate with dealership leadership, group marketing resources, Ford, and external vendors when digital campaign support is required.
  • Ensure website and campaign content is current, accurate, and aligned with dealership priorities.
  • Use organic and paid-channel results to recommend practical improvements.
Coordinate Events and Partnerships
  • Plan and execute dealership events, charitable initiatives, sponsorship activations, and community appearances.
  • Coordinate event logistics, promotion, internal communication, content coverage, and follow-up.
  • Support customer appreciation events and significant dealership campaigns.
  • Track participation, partner feedback, content generated, and other outcomes to help evaluate each initiative.
Support Merchandising and Dealership Presentation
  • Help maintain standards for vehicle photography, descriptions, and online merchandising.
  • Coordinate showroom materials, point-of-sale displays, and in-store branding.
  • Identify inconsistencies or opportunities across customer-facing touchpoints and work with the appropriate teams to address them.
  • Support a professional and welcoming presentation at both dealership locations.
Use Data to Guide Decisions
  • Maintain a monthly marketing scorecard covering website traffic, lead activity, conversion performance, social engagement, content production, and community initiatives.
  • Compare performance over time and identify meaningful trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Bring forward recommendations—not simply reports—when results indicate that something should change.
  • Work with dealership and group leadership to understand how marketing activity contributes to customer traffic, reputation, and sales opportunities.
What You Bring
  • Experience in marketing, communications, community relations, events, hospitality, media, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • A genuine connection to Hawaiʻi Island and respect for its communities, relationships, and local culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to represent a customer-facing business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Practical photo, video, social media, and content-creation capabilities.
  • The ability to interpret performance data and explain what it means in clear language.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work with employees across every dealership department.
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend events.
  • A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel between dealership locations and community events.

Automotive experience is helpful, but it is not required. We care more about your ability to build trust, represent the business well, create strong work, and follow through on commitments.

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Reliable reporting and proactive, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Healthy website traffic, lead activity, and conversion trends.
  • A growing reputation for Orchid Isle Ford as a dealership that genuinely contributes to the communities it serves.
