This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer based in United States.

This role provides senior-level structural engineering expertise across projects that vary in scope, complexity, and building type. You will develop structural designs, calculations, construction documents, and technical details while ensuring high-quality project deliverables. The position combines technical execution with project planning, client coordination, construction administration, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with project managers, technical leads, designers, clients, and other consultants to keep projects moving efficiently. The role offers exposure to diverse structural systems and opportunities to contribute to data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise, education, and other building projects. This is a remote opportunity for a licensed engineer who enjoys solving complex structural challenges and taking ownership of project outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Prepare accurate structural calculations and construction documents that meet established quality standards.
  • Design lateral and gravity structural systems within areas of technical expertise, including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood framing.
  • Develop sketches and drawings for unique structural details and provide clear modeling and drafting direction to project team members.
  • Perform quality control of personal work and provide technical options and recommendations to technical leads when additional direction is required.
  • Develop sprint plans and communicate the approach, required tasks, estimated hours, priorities, and deliverables to the project manager and project team.
  • Identify high-impact, low-risk activities that can maintain project momentum and proactively communicate roadblocks or changes to the project plan.
  • Manage construction administration activities, including maintaining CA logs, preparing RFI responses for technical lead approval, reviewing shop drawings, and identifying scope creep.
  • Conduct site visits and support field-related project activities as required.
  • Independently communicate with clients through meetings, calls, and email while maintaining clear and professional project coordination.
  • Coordinate drawing development with technical staff and proactively identify potential issues involving other consultants, offering practical solutions.
  • Provide early technical guidance on the advantages and disadvantages of structural systems and material selections.
  • Communicate project updates, decisions, and potential issues clearly to the broader project team.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to expand technical expertise.
  • Contribute to material groups, standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continue developing proficiency across structural materials, markets, and project types.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience designing structural systems involving concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame construction.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles and the ability to develop coherent calculations, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Ability to provide effective modeling and drafting direction and understand the expected final project deliverables.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to estimate effort, prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adjust plans as project needs evolve.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working directly with clients, project managers, technical leads, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently while keeping stakeholders informed and escalating risks or roadblocks appropriately.
  • Commitment to continuing education, technical development, and improving engineering standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work remotely, with preference for candidates located in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% for project and site-related activities.

Benefits:

  • Salary range of $99,750–$115,500 annually.
  • Remote work opportunity.
  • Opportunities to gain valuable industry experience and practical engineering skills.
  • Exposure to diverse projects, structural systems, industries, and project types.
  • Collaboration with a diverse team of engineering and professional services specialists.
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Opportunities to build a broad professional network.
  • Competitive total compensation package.
