DC Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Twin Falls, ID. We are looking for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) with at least two years of experience in mechanical building systems design. The ideal candidate will have experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems within a consulting environment and be ready to contribute to projects with minimal ramp-up time.

In this role, you will work alongside a collaborative team of engineers, drafters and designers to develop innovative mechanical system solutions for commercial, institutional, industrial, and other building projects. You will participate in all phases of project development, from conceptual design through construction administration, while building strong relationships with clients and project partners.

Essential Job Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems for a variety of building projects
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinate designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Perform code analysis and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and industry standards
  • Support projects through design, bidding, construction, and closeout phases
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to technical discussions and project planning
  • Assist with project scheduling, coordination, and quality control efforts

Requirements:

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a mechanical engineer with a solid foundation in MEP consulting who can contribute to projects quickly. The ideal candidate has experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, and supporting projects through construction. Candidates who hold a PE license or are actively working toward licensure are highly encouraged to apply.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering consulting
  • Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems and engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Preferred

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the near future
  • Experience with Revit and BIM coordination
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry standards
  • Experience collaborating directly with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams
