Program: SRO Ithaca, NY
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: Salary pay range is min. $20.06 to a max. $26.12 per hr. based on education & experience (evening & overnight hours may qualify for a shift differential)

Essential Job Functions Overview
With the general supervision of the Assistant and Program Managers, provides a variety of administrative, coordinating, and monitoring functions related to self-administration of medications; counsels, supports, and aids individuals with Mental Illnesses and Substance Use concerns in skills and activities of daily living. Individual should strive to create a healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve by practicing safe, respectful communication as well as respecting individuals’ boundaries and differences.
Essential Job Functions in Residential setting:
- Conduct skills training in individual settings utilizing motivational interviewing
- Provide monitoring of medication oversight procedures
- Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly audits on all medication and RC documentation and will address findings with RC's and Assistant Manager.
- Monitor systems around staff oversight of medications
- Document changes in medications
- Provide new hire training around oversight of self-administration of medications
- Communicate with providers around medication orders, medication changes and restart orders
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation around medication orders, changes and errors.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation according to organization policies and procedures
- Actively participate in required meetings, in-service trainings, and other continuing education opportunities
- Know and adhere to all OMH/other agency regulatory policies and procedures
- Provide additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma with five (5) years of relevant experience or an associate’s degree in human services or related field with three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; one (1) year of residential experience preferred. Health care experience preferred. Valid NYS Driver’s License as driving is an essential function of the position.
Knowledge:
General knowledge and understanding of Mental Health issues, Substance Use concerns and the Psychiatric Rehabilitation model; psychology, personality, and group dynamics; principles and practices of conflict and crisis management, adult learning, motivation, interpersonal communications, household management; independent living skills; the Human Services system; use of motivational interviewing to engage individuals; positive philosophy toward wellness/recovery and trauma informed care.
