Job Description

Description:
  • Serve as the core maintainer and developer for the FARM Web, FARM API, and COSM modules.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 helpdesk resolution for complex code defects and integration issues, adhering to strict SLAs (15-min urgent response).
  • Support system ingestion processes including web-based online submission through COSM, ESG-based submissions, and Adobe/online fillable forms.
  • Perform defect fixes and build minor enhancements (under 200 hours) across four quarterly releases, including compiling CCB root cause analyses.
  • Run code changes through the FDA GitLab DevSecOps pipeline, ensuring unit testing, automated regression, and Section 508 accessibility compliance prior to user acceptance.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (approx. 1 week per month) and support off-hours/weekend deployment windows for the 4 annual O&M releases.
  • Technical Documentation & Quality Assurance: Create and maintain technical EPLC artifacts (Release Notes, Version Description Documents, and System Run Books) for every code change, ensuring all documentation is finalized within 5 days of release and that code meets the FDA's standard of 99% first-cycle User Acceptance Testing (UAT) success.
Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a computing field.
  • Experience: 5+ years designing, developing, and maintaining complex Java applications in an enterprise environment, providing technical direction to less experienced developers.
  • Core Stack: Expert-level proficiency with Java 21, Jakarta EE 11, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Server/Platform: Hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic 14c.
  • Integration/Front-End: Experience with Angular, REST and JWT services, Kafka messaging, Apache Solr, Documentum, and Adobe AEM forms.
  • Methodology: Experience working under a formal SDLC/EPLC with secure coding practices (OWASP) and Section 508 compliance testing.
  • Ideal candidate will have previous experience navigating Federal change control boards (CCB) and providing high-availability (24/7) operational support.

Required Technology Stack Experience:

  • Core Java & Frameworks: Expert-level development experience with Java 21, Jakarta EE 11, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Application Servers: Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications on Oracle WebLogic 14c.
  • APIs & Front-End: Experience developing RESTful APIs and JWT services and working familiarity with Angular (which powers the COSM front end).
  • Event Streaming & Messaging: Strong experience building data pipelines and asynchronous integrations using Apache Kafka.
  • Database: Experience writing and optimizing data retrieval using Oracle 19c and PL/SQL.
  • Enterprise Integration (Highly Preferred): Working knowledge integrating with enterprise COTS platforms, specifically OpenText Documentum, Apache Solr, and Adobe AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) forms.
  • DevSecOps & Tools: Experience executing builds within GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including configuring automated unit testing, static analysis, and dependency scanning.
