Job Description

Senior Data Scientist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Scientist based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to turn large-scale customer data into insights that shape products, experiences, and business decisions.
You will work with terabytes of data and billions of records to understand customer behavior and identify opportunities for improvement.
The position combines analytical depth, experimentation, curiosity, and independent problem-solving in a fast-growing environment.
You will translate questions from teams across the organization into structured studies, actionable analyses, and measurable outcomes.
Your work will help inform customer experiences as the business expands its subscription-based gaming offering into new markets.
You will also build reusable analytical frameworks and communicate findings clearly through documentation and white papers.
As part of a small, product-driven team, you will have substantial ownership and the opportunity to work with emerging technologies in interactive gaming.

Accountabilities:
  • Analyze large and complex customer datasets to uncover behavioral patterns, trends, opportunities, and insights that can improve customer experiences and business performance.
  • Work with large-scale data environments containing terabytes of information and billions of records, using analytical techniques to answer meaningful business questions.
  • Translate loosely defined questions from teams across the organization into structured studies, analytical approaches, and actionable recommendations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for investigation rather than relying solely on predefined assignments or requirements.
  • Design analytical studies and develop repeatable frameworks that can be maintained and automated as new data and business questions emerge.
  • Collaborate with other members of the analytics team to ensure analytical processes remain reliable, scalable, and useful over time.
  • Communicate findings through clear documentation, white papers, and other materials that can be understood and applied by stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
  • Explain analytical methodologies, discoveries, and recommendations clearly while maintaining confidence in the underlying data and results.
  • Apply creative approaches to complex analytical problems and continuously investigate ways to generate greater value from customer data.
  • Work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with teams operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or 9+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong SQL proficiency with experience retrieving, transforming, and analyzing data from databases such as Amazon Redshift.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of ambiguous problems, and determine effective analytical approaches with limited guidance.
  • Comfortable operating in environments where questions are open-ended and solutions require investigation, iteration, and experimentation.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and the ability to reason effectively about data quality, scale, and analytical complexity.
  • Proficiency in Python or R in addition to SQL is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning tools and/or large-scale data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark is preferred.
  • Experience designing or analyzing A/B tests and applying experimentation methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with colleagues from different cultures and professional backgrounds.
  • Creative and proactive approach to solving complex problems and identifying new analytical opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence in validating, explaining, and defending analytical results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of analytical quality.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and good-natured approach to working with others.
  • Comfortable using independent analytical reasoning and creating solutions from first principles rather than relying on AI tools as a baseline.

Benefits:

  • Annual base salary of $140,000–$165,000 USD, with final compensation determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
  • Competitive overall compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Product-driven culture focused on talent, professional development, and individual growth.
  • Opportunity to work with very large-scale datasets and advanced analytical technologies.
  • Hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and the evolving interactive gaming industry.
  • Opportunity to influence customer experiences and product decisions through data-driven insights.
  • High level of ownership within a small, collaborative, and fast-growing team.
  • Opportunity to contribute to products designed to encourage movement, play, and engagement for families.
