Schedule:
Primarily first shift, and may include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Overview:
Olgoonik is seeking experienced Forklift Operator to support warehouse receiving, storage, material movement, inventory, order selection, and shipping operations involving Government-owned products. The Forklift Operator will safely and efficiently operate powered material handling equipment while maintaining accurate product movement and accountability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operates forklifts and other authorized material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances.
- Transports pallets and material throughout the warehouse.
- Places and retrieves material from designated storage locations.
- Stacks and palletizes material in accordance with established warehouse procedures.
- Supports receiving, storage, inventory, selection, and shipping operations.
- Verifies material and locations before moving product.
- Reports damaged product, unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and discrepancies.
- Performs pre-use equipment inspections and reports maintenance requirements.
- Maintains awareness of pedestrians, other MHE operators, racks, doors, trailers, and other hazards.
- Follows all OSHA, warehouse, safety, security, and operating procedures.
- Uses WMS or other warehouse systems as required to support assigned activities.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Supports other warehouse duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous forklift/material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to complete required forklift/MHE training and certification.
- Ability to pass required safety and equipment evaluations.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and perform physical material handling duties.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, extended hours, and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience operating forklifts in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment.
- Experience operating multiple classes/types of MHE.
- Previous Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), military, or Government warehouse experience.
- Experience using WMS or automated warehouse systems.
