This role sits at the intersection of international trade compliance, client advisory, and operational execution within a highly regulated logistics environment.
You will support clients in navigating customs regulations, CBSA requirements, and trade compliance obligations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across import/export processes.
The position involves hands-on advisory work, including classification, valuation, origin guidance, and audit preparation for cross-border shipments.
You will act as a key point of contact for clients, helping them resolve compliance issues and improve their trade operations.
A strong focus is placed on process optimization, automation, and leveraging systems to enhance regulatory workflows.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented trade professional who enjoys combining analytical work with client-facing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide advisory support to clients on international trade compliance, including customs classification, valuation, origin, and preferential trade programs.
  • Support CBSA-related activities including audit preparation, verification processes, documentation reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Utilize and support the CBSA CARM Client Portal for document uploads, compliance tracking, and client assistance.
  • Assist in preparing submissions, regulatory responses, and supporting documentation for post-entry and customs authority requests.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and help implement updates to internal and client-facing trade compliance procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for brokerage process improvements, automation, and system-driven efficiency gains.
  • Support reporting, data validation, and root-cause analysis to reduce compliance exceptions and improve accuracy.
  • Contribute to training materials, documentation, and client guidance related to trade compliance and system usage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance requirements are properly embedded into operational workflows.
  • Manage client billing activities related to consulting and compliance project work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
  • CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation required.
  • Experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or international logistics operations.
  • Working knowledge of CBSA regulations and the CARM Client Portal.
  • Experience supporting audits, verifications, and regulatory documentation processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts clearly to clients.
  • High attention to detail and strong compliance mindset.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, with strong written and spoken French for frequent client interactions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with automation, reporting tools, or process optimization is considered an asset.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation ($23.70/hour).
  • Full-time permanent employment.
  • Remote work arrangement with structured weekday schedule.
  • Opportunity to work on complex international trade and compliance cases.
  • Exposure to CBSA systems, audits, and enterprise-level brokerage operations.
  • Professional development in customs compliance, trade systems, and process optimization.
  • Collaborative and structured environment within a global logistics organization.
