This role sits at the intersection of international trade compliance, client advisory, and operational execution within a highly regulated logistics environment.
You will support clients in navigating customs regulations, CBSA requirements, and trade compliance obligations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across import/export processes.
The position involves hands-on advisory work, including classification, valuation, origin guidance, and audit preparation for cross-border shipments.
You will act as a key point of contact for clients, helping them resolve compliance issues and improve their trade operations.
A strong focus is placed on process optimization, automation, and leveraging systems to enhance regulatory workflows.

- Provide advisory support to clients on international trade compliance, including customs classification, valuation, origin, and preferential trade programs.
- Support CBSA-related activities including audit preparation, verification processes, documentation reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Utilize and support the CBSA CARM Client Portal for document uploads, compliance tracking, and client assistance.
- Assist in preparing submissions, regulatory responses, and supporting documentation for post-entry and customs authority requests.
- Monitor regulatory changes and help implement updates to internal and client-facing trade compliance procedures.
- Identify opportunities for brokerage process improvements, automation, and system-driven efficiency gains.
- Support reporting, data validation, and root-cause analysis to reduce compliance exceptions and improve accuracy.
- Contribute to training materials, documentation, and client guidance related to trade compliance and system usage.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance requirements are properly embedded into operational workflows.
- Manage client billing activities related to consulting and compliance project work.
- Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
- CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation required.
- Experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or international logistics operations.
- Working knowledge of CBSA regulations and the CARM Client Portal.
- Experience supporting audits, verifications, and regulatory documentation processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts clearly to clients.
- High attention to detail and strong compliance mindset.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, with strong written and spoken French for frequent client interactions.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with automation, reporting tools, or process optimization is considered an asset.
