Dispatcher | Abilene, TX

Midway Plumbing is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to join our dynamic team! The Dispatcher supports the day-to-day operations of the company by efficiently scheduling and dispatching technicians to calls. This role requires critical thinking to ensure the best-fit technician is dispatched to every call, keeping our operations running smoothly and our customers taken care of quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch all service calls to ensure maximum scheduling efficiency without compromising client satisfaction
  • Manage the dispatch board to keep field personnel on the move and generating revenue, compressing call scheduling effectively to maximize productivity
  • Notify clients ahead of time without fail if the technician will not arrive within the scheduled time window, and reschedule at the client's convenience
  • Communicate with the Purchasing and Warehouse Coordinator to arrange efficient delivery of parts to technicians, keeping technicians on the job
  • Adhere to the Dispatching for Profits Priority Service Schedule, including the 10-28 dispatching system, to ensure the right technician is sent to the right appointment
  • Share responsibility for ensuring all technicians arrive at their designated appointments on time
  • Debrief technicians after each call and ensure payment is collected immediately after each completed job
  • Follow the company Code of Ethics, Team Rules, and Team Philosophy
  • Reports to the Operations Manager
Requirements:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Self-starter, reliable, with flexibility in hours
  • Strong customer service skills and telephone etiquette
  • Present and communicate professionally, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a professional and technical level
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of email systems
  • Critical thinker with strong English composition skills
  • Ability to develop tools that create efficiencies within the department
  • Bilingual a plus, not required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

Working Environment

Frequent speaking and listening using a headset, sitting, and use of hands/fingers across a keyboard or mouse, with long periods working at a computer. Service center environment with moderate noise level. Dress code is business casual.
