Job Description
Summary
- This position reports to the Tribal Facilities Supervisor. A person in this position will be responsible for assisting the Tribal Facilities Supervisor and Tribal Facilities Engineers in their duties in areas including but not limited to preventative maintenance, walkthrough inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, equipment repair, heavy equipment operation, tool management, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Respond to scheduled work requests and perform preventative maintenance, facility walkthroughs, and in-depth inspections.
- Assisting Tribal EPA in land maintenance projects.
- Assisting the Tribal Mechanic/Tribal Pool Technician with routine maintenance and upkeep.
- Providing maintenance and repair services to Tribally owned homes.
Qualifications/Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Minimum one year’s experience in facility maintenance.
- On-the-job training, certificates in facilities, engineering and maintenance.
- Needs to be knowledgeable in two or more of the following: HVAC, plumbing, electronics, carpentry, painting, diesel systems, hydraulics, water distribution or treatment, metal fabrication, landscaping, heavy equipment operation or general trades.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Immunizations TDAP, Hep A & B Series (Diphtheria & titers).

- Able to uphold a high level of confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all staff to ensure all projects are performed and completed to the specifications given.
- Respond to all requests for work and perform all regularly scheduled work and maintenance promptly and efficiently.
- Appropriately use and store all Tribal equipment, including Tribal vehicles.
- Adapts to change as it arises and communicates recommendations for change respectfully and open-mindedly.
- They will follow the direction of their supervisor and the Tribe while keeping the health, safety, and protection of Tribal assets in mind.
- Using their best judgment always.

Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.
