Overview
The Sr. Analyst, Data leads complex analytical initiatives and designs reliable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making across the organization. This role partners with stakeholders to translate ambiguous or complex business problems into scalable analytical approaches, trusted datasets, and clear recommendations.
The Sr. Analyst, Data has deep knowledge of Archimedes business offerings, healthcare and pharmacy benefit management data, analytical workflows, and data dependencies. Leveraging advanced SQL expertise, data modeling knowledge, and strong business judgment, this role promotes best practices, improves legacy and modern reporting processes, mentors other analysts, and helps ensure that the organization makes decisions using accurate, well-understood data.
Responsibilities
How do I make an impact on my team?
- Lead complex, cross-functional, analytical projects from business problem definition through data analysis, validation, stakeholder communication, and final delivery.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical plans, reusable reporting logic, scalable datasets, and actionable recommendations.
- Design, maintain, and optimize SQL-based analytical solutions, data models, views, stored procedures, and recurring reporting workflows supporting operational and strategic needs.
- Write and review advanced SQL using SSMS, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, temporary tables, stored procedures, performance-aware query design, and robust validation logic.
- Analyze pharmacy claims, member, client, drug, formulary, rebate, network, provider, clinical, operational, and financial datasets to identify risks, opportunities, trends, and decision points.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned business domains, datasets, metrics, reporting processes, and data dependencies.
- Advise stakeholders on metric definitions, data interpretation, analytical trade-offs, appropriate methodology, assumptions, limitations, and recommended actions.
- Develop and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and analytical deliverables used by business stakeholders and leadership.
- Establish and promote practical standards for data validation, documentation, report design, quality assurance, peer review, and maintainable analytical code.
- Investigate complex data quality issues, reconcile outputs across systems, identify root causes, and recommend durable process or data improvements.
Qualifications
What our team expects from you?
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative, business, healthcare, information systems, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- 5 years of experience with data analysis, business analysis, analytics engineering, reporting, data warehousing, or related analytical work in a production environment required.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including window functions, stored procedures, temp tables, performance-aware query design, data validation, and troubleshooting complex business logic, required.
- Experience leading complex analytical projects, translating ambiguous requirements, and delivering high-quality work with minimal managerial guidance required.
- Advanced experience using SSMS and SQL Server-based analytics environments to develop, validate, document, and optimize analytical solutions required.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT workflows, data modeling, upstream and downstream dependencies, and production reporting controls required.
- Experience developing or improving Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and governed analytical datasets required.
- Ability to establish practical standards for documentation, quality assurance, peer review, maintainability, and business-rule transparency required.
