Job Description

Research Project Specialist Sr.

Position Highlights:

  • The Research Project Specialist serves as a supervisor/project coordinator for studies related to the PI. Creates, modifies and maintains databases for research studies related to the PI.
  • Works under the supervision of the PI to prioritize research initiatives and assist with manuscript preparation, as well as assists with the management of study samples and data. Works independently under minimal supervision to coordinate the activities of assigned research protocols. Also, may conduct and perform experiments as part of the research team under the general guidance of a PI.
  • This can be more than one project, however most of these positions will focus on one main project or consortium study. This position is at a higher level than the Research Project Specialist and is expected to have more experience, maturity, and independent decision making than the Research Project Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing research projects and research activities (analytical and technical).
  • To include resource allocation, responsible for time bound deliveries (aspects of the study), responsible for on time project(s) delivery.
  • Responsible for drafting scientific documents to include regulatory documents, publications, manuscripts, protocols.
  • Preparing documents for clinical/laboratory protocols and assisting with the preparation and submission of manuscripts and grant applications.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; Master's with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred. Hands on experience necessary, along with experience in the use of basic office equipment, computers and MS Office software environment.
  • Must have the ability to work well under the pressure of meeting mandatory deadlines. Must have good organization skills and careful attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must have ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple work assignments.
  • Need to have the ability to read, write, interpret and apply instructions to assigned activities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
