Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for collecting and submitting accurate, complete and timely data associated with quality measures into specified data collection application(s). Facilitates the analysis and reporting of data to medical staff, clinical and ancillary staff, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and accreditation organizations. Facilitates ongoing compliance with government, clinical and operational performance measures, objectives and programs.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

2. *Conducts concurrent and/or retrospective clinical documentation review according to regulatory or internal specifications.
3. *Accurately abstracts and submits data to accreditation and regulatory bodies in a timely manner.
4. *Designs clear, informative, and engaging visualizations that accurately and efficiently represent process and outcome metrics.
5. *Attends and supports medical staff, hospital committee and quality improvement teams as assigned.
6. *Prioritizes, organizes, and meets deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks and team requests.
7. *Maintains and refreshes knowledge of regulatory/publicly reported data requirements as specified by federal, state, payer, and other agencies, and reviews revisions to quality metric specifications.
8. *Navigates technical systems including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other case entry tools.
9. *Maintains clinical knowledge and understanding of patient care services.
10. Attends professional development/continuing education classes; reviews professional journals, manuals and technical reports to meet user needs and organizational goals.
11. Reviews, monitors and supports integration processes as appropriate. Validates accuracy of data and assists in resolving data quality issues.
12. *Trains users to use applications and provides user technical assistance.
13. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
14. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
15. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of disease processes to include basic anatomy and physiology.
2. Knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology.
3. Knowledge of coding principles.
4. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
5. Skill in accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
7. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality relative to sensitive information.
9. Ability to work as a team member with multi-disciplinary teams.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, medical staff, volunteer and ancillary departments.
11. Ability to navigate hospital systems including the design and function of hospital medical records.
12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Nebraska licensure/degree in Nursing or related clinical allied health profession required. Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in a clinical area, healthcare quality, public health or a related role required.
