Position Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Pay Rate: $14.00/hour

Position Summary:

As a Host/Hostess at Mesero, you are responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring smooth guest interaction. You will welcome and escort guests, present clean menus, manage reservations and wait list, and ensure that guests are treated with the utmost care and hospitality. This role is essential in delivering a welcoming experience to every guest from the beginning to end of their visit.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly with a smile, seat them promptly, and present clean menus in a friendly and hospitable manner.
  • Take guest information while building an organized waitlist.
  • Maintain organization of the floor chart. Keeping track of available tables and soon to be available.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance the host area and menus.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries about the menu, restaurant, or reservations.
  • Fill to-go orders when applicable and assist with processing them efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the restrooms throughout the shift, ensuring they are stocked and orderly.
  • Assist in other areas of the restaurant as directed by management to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role is a plus but not required
  • Up to date certifications required by state regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering excellent guest service.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to remain calm and professional during busy times.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
