Clinical Nurse Educator-ICU / CCU Department

Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Educator will function as a member of the Staff Education and Development team. This individual will collaborate with the Director of Staff Education and Nurse Managers to provide orientation, education and support for the clinical staff. This individual will represent administration in the overall management of the hospital, in the absence of nursing administration and managers. They will participate as a member of the Nursing Management team. A minimum of 3 years ICU/CCU experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides supervision to clinical staff in the provision of patient care.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill education, experience and/or ability required to perform this position successfully.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors of Science in Nursing required; Masters of Science in Nursing preferred . Must be licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE AND EXPERIENCE:

Five years of clinical experience. Demonstrated ability in leadership skills, clinical skills, communication skills and professional creativity. Experience in teaching/mentoring preferred.
