About This Position

JOB SUMMARY: Trust Operations is responsible for the accounting functions undertaken by the Trust Department in its administration of trusts, agency accounts, estates, conservatorships and IRAs. Trust Operations personnel work with the trust officers, trust assistants, and portfolio manager in the management of accounts.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Experience: Background in accounting required. Previous trust department operations experience desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with creation, implementation, and testing of Internal Controls
  • Work with management to review, change, and implement new written procedures
  • Assist with data review and validation related to system conversion
  • Take a lead role in the development of workflows to improve processes, prevent errors and track tasks to completion
  • Train with and provide backup for account transfer specialist
  • Support department with audit and examination document gathering and preparation
  • Maintain relationships with outside agencies/providers
  • Be knowledgeable of bank compliance rules and adhere to Federal and State banking regulations relating to this position
  • Follow all Bank compliance policies and procedures relating to this position
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Work is performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

SKILLS: The Trust Operations Accounting Administrator must have a strong accounting background and a high level of independent problem solving and organizational skills. They must be experienced in the accounting system processes and functions and must understand basic tax and legal concepts. The Accounting Administrator must understand concepts relating to stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other investable assets. They must meet deadlines, as necessary and have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Responsible to the Trust Operations Manager for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively with the Trust Services staff
  • Contact with co-workers and the public in a professional manner
