About This Position

About Striv:
At Striv, we design inspiring spaces rooted in hospitality, lifestyle, and experience. Our projects range from full-scale hotel renovations to boutique commercial spaces, balancing creativity with operational functionality. We are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer with demonstrated hospitality design experience to join our growing team and help shape impactful environments for guests and operators alike.

Position Summary:

The Senior Interior Designer will lead projects through all phases of design — from concept to installation — with a focus on hospitality interiors.
You will be responsible for developing design narratives, coordinating with consultants and vendors, ensuring brand compliance, overseeing FF&E specifications, and mentoring junior team members.
This role requires a high level of creativity, technical expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of hospitality operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design process across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with client vision and brand standards.
• Develop space plans, material and finish palettes, FF&E packages, and custom millwork details for hospitality environments.
• Prepare and deliver design presentations, narratives, and concept boards.
• Manage and oversee project documentation, including full drawing sets, FF&E schedules, and procurement packages.
• Collaborate with project managers, purchasing teams, architects, consultants, and ownership groups throughout project timelines.
• Conduct field surveys, attend site visits, and coordinate installation phases.
• Maintain expertise in hospitality brand standards (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, etc.) and custom lifestyle brand design criteria.
• Mentor and oversee junior and intern-level design staff, providing guidance and quality control.
• Support RFP responses, design narratives, and business development efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture (CIDA-accredited program strongly preferred).
• 6+ years of professional interior design experience with a strong emphasis in hospitality design (hotel, resort, boutique hospitality projects).
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
• Strong understanding of FF&E sourcing, specification, and procurement processes.
• Expertise in producing complete construction drawing sets, millwork details, and presentation packages.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
• Familiarity SketchUp and Enscape a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• NCIDQ Certification preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to travel periodically for project site visits, installation supervision, and client meetings.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Hospitality brand experience (Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, independent/boutique) is required.

What We Offer:

• Opportunity to lead meaningful hospitality projects from concept to execution.
• Collaborative and supportive team culture with growth opportunities.
• Exposure to full project cycles including design, procurement, and installation.
• Competitive salary and benefits package.
• Flexible and creative work environment that values design innovation and operational excellence.

To Apply:
Please submit your resume, portfolio of relevant hospitality work (PDF preferred), and a brief cover letter to Katie Matlock (katie@strivdesigns.com). Applications without portfolios will not be considered.
