SUMMARY
The Director of Philanthropy is a key member of the philanthropy team, responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors with the capacity to make gifts of $10,000 and above as well as contributing to the organization’s planned giving program, including the Legacy of Hope Planned Giving Society. This position focuses on building long-term relationships with donors and prospects to secure significant investments that advance the mission of Guadalupe Center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Gifts
- Manage a portfolio of 75-100 current donors, prospects, grantors, corporate partners capable of making gifts of $10,000+
- Successfully raise $1M+ in funds annually for the Guadalupe Center, advancing relationships through personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Develop and implement moves management plans to deepen donor engagement and grow philanthropic investment.
- Represent Guadalupe Center at community events, tours, and donor gatherings as needed.
- Participate in creation and execution of annual development plan for organization including major donor communications strategy
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress using Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Planned Giving
- Support the organization’s planned giving strategy and implementation, including marketing, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
- Help grow the Legacy of Hope Planned Giving Society, engaging existing members and identifying new prospects and working with the team on best practices & strategies.
- Provide guidance and support for staff and board members in identifying and discussing legacy giving opportunities.
- Work with financial and legal advisors through the Professional Advisor Council to develop relationships and stay in touch with the market trends.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree Required, CFRE preferred
- Minimum 5–7 years of fundraising experience, including planned giving and major gift solicitation.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred.

- Tech-savvy and comfortable using data to drive decisions.
- Ability to travel locally and work evenings/weekends as required.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 FBI background screening and pre-employment drug test.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Indoor office environment with frequent regional travel.
- Regular evening and occasional weekend commitments.
- Exposure to outdoor elements during events.
- Periods of sitting, standing, and light lifting (up to 25 pounds).
- Must have access to reliable transportation for donor meetings and off-site events.
