About This Position

Ready to lead a mission that changes lives?

Lead and grow a nationwide program helping children and families thrive. CPLC seeks an experienced, mission-driven leader with a background in child welfare, strong management skills, and a commitment to culturally responsive care.

Location: CA, TX or IL

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

As the Home Study Post-Release Services (HSPRS) Program Director, you’ll oversee a nationwide team that helps unaccompanied children reunite safely with families and sponsors. You’ll manage program operations, ensure compliance with ORR standards, and support staff in providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed services.

Your leadership will directly shape how children and families rebuild their lives - safely, compassionately, and with hope.

WHO YOU ARE:

You’re an experienced, mission-driven leader who brings a deep understanding of child welfare, family preservation, and culturally responsive care. You combine compassion with strong managerial skills — guiding your team to provide consistent, high-quality support to families across the country.

You excel at navigating complex systems, balancing multiple priorities, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences. You thrive in environments that demand both strategic thinking and hands-on leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A Master of Social Work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science field. This requirement may be substituted by a bachelor’s in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus approximately 5 years of relevant employment experience, that demonstrates advanced levels of supervisory and fiscal management experience.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of supervisor/managerial experience in child welfare or a related field
  • Experience working in ORR programs preferred
  • Experience managing projects, including both financial and managerial responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, child welfare policies and procedures, and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Specialized experience in conducting Home Studies, providing Post Release Services, and working with immigrant populations.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal/written)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families, caseworkers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, as the position may require travel.
