JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as the technical lead on customer projects, overseeing the mechanical design and ensuring successful delivery of parcel sortation and material handling systems. This role bridges engineering and project management, coordinating design activities and serving as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the technical lead on assigned projects, ensuring designs align with customer requirements, safety standards, and company practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure consistent design practices and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Develop detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations for parcel handling projects.
  • Produce mechanical installation drawings, fabrication drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawing sets for permits, installation, and as-built conditions.
  • Coordinate design activities across internal teams and external partners, serving as a key point of contact for technical issues.
  • Support the review and approval of submittals, vendor drawings, and design changes.
  • Provide technical input during project planning, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Monitor design deliverables to ensure successful project execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Other engineering and project responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D CAD design software).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including materials, mechanics, and manufacturing methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to apply independent engineering judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawing and design packages.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of balancing multiple project priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills; capable of balancing technical work and project coordination responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to lead design efforts and coordinate across disciplines to achieve project goals.
