About This Position
We are seeking a skilled Splining Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in producing precision splined parts and other intricate features using various machining processes including hobbing, shaping and broaching. You will work with blueprints in this role.
Duties
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand the required dimensions, tolerances, and features of splined parts.
Cutting and Machining: Precisely cut and machine various materials to create splines and other intricate shapes, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect completed parts using various gaging devices and measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Tool Management: Maintain and inspect tool cutters, maintain tool data reports, and recommend changes to tool cutter geometry.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production records, including lot control traceability and log book entries.
Material Handling: Move material within the machining cell and maintain inventory.
Maintenance: Perform minor machine maintenance and report any needed repairs.
Skills
Proficient in operating machinery.
Experience with specs and drawings
Strong understanding of basic math concepts for measurement calculations.
Familiarity with GD&T standards.
Ability to weld is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to work at a team and independently
