About This Position

Position Summary

Responsible for the set-up, calibration and operation of machines used in production processes.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Works from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.
  • Inspects machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete routine tasks according to specifications.
  • May make calculations and assist with numeric controlled programming.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Applies basic job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Tasks are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for some judgement.
  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work.
  • Requires instruction on new assignments.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.

  • None

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in extremely oily and noisy environments.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and move around for up to 10 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb for up to 10 hours.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, mist, and dust.
