About This Position
Role: The Accounting Operations Senior Accounting Clerk - AP will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role ensures that invoices are properly reviewed, coded, approved, entered in the system, and payments are completed as scheduled. This person will also be responsible for completion of logging all invoices and following up on any that are awaiting approvals, or past due. They should be able to work as a team to assist in and complete monthly tasks as well as cross-train in various accounting aspects of the department. Other critical skills are problem solving abilities, attention to fine detail and accuracy, and ability to prioritize tasks.
Duties:
- Receive, review, and code all incoming invoices
- Route invoices for approval and track their progress for timely processing
- Log and maintain invoice records for reporting
- Prepare and process weekly check runs
- Process the weekly cancellation batch, and reissues
- Daily Import batches between systems
- Respond to vendor inquiries and internal inquiries, meeting the SLA
- Process weekly expense reimbursements
- Process any unique requests related to internal or external requests
- Assist in research and document retrieval for SOX inquiries
- Work with Ops Acct team to complete monthly statements by required SLA
- Provide support and assist with month end close processes
- Research and provide reports utilizing tools such as SQL, Excel, and Tableau
- Provide ad hoc reports for department as needed
- Assist in research and resolutions for all department reconciliations
- Assist with process controls, procedure updates, and project efforts
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable
- Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to succeed in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly
- Knowledge of the automotive industry or prior auto dealership or service contract provider experience is desirable
- Working knowledge of Excel at intermediate level or above
- Oracle experience desirable
